2 storey side extension with single storey rear ext
“Masters by name & Masters of their trade…👍👍 Right from when we first met Carl then Simon we where impressed, nothing was too much trouble & the quality of both Carl & Simon’s work is exceptional. They have done all the block & brickwork for our single rear & double side extension, in a house that was originally built in 1920-1925. They have matched the old bricks with the reclaimed and the resulting work quite simply is fantastic. They both really are exceptional at what they do, both are meticulous, efficient & fast at what they do & the quality of their work is just brilliant. The attention to detail that both Carl & Simon have for their work, from the corner profiles to the weathering of the pointing, to all that they do shows that they are both as their name suggests ‘Masters’. We would & do highly recommend Masters Brickwork to everyone, friends, family & those just passing who admire the brickwork. Masters Brickwork and Stone Masonry’s Carl Masters wins the ‘Sussex Heritage Trust 2022 building crafts Award, sponsored by Pilbeam Construction
Criteria: “An example of high-quality work by a craftsperson or young apprentice using traditional skills or crafts. The Award is given to the person rather than the project“.
Carl was tasked with the new build construction of a classic brick and stone building to create a new family home. Coursed Fittleworth stone was traditionally laid on lime beds with bespoke handmade curved lintels and housed knapped and galleted flint panels. The first floor consisted of a traditional Flemish bond of handmade bricks laid on a bed of lime.
The project was submitted for an award by King and Drury Construction, Chichester
crafts. The Award is given to the person rather than the project.

Carl, Simon & Callum started promptly at 0730 every morning and worked hard throughout each day. The job was over 7 working days and so we got to know them quite well. Nothing was ever any trouble for them and they just got on with extras here and there with a new window opening and patching to existing walls.
Extremely nice guys and very skilled bricklayers. They take serious pride in their work and our walls look great !!!”
